Are you interested in using demographic information and data to further the Kingdom of God? Then becoming a member of the Baptist Data Consortium is easy… simply let us know your interest and you’re in.
The purpose of the Data Consortium is to:
1) provide training for use of data in decision support,
2) leverage buying power to obtain data related products/services, and
3) build an informal user community.
Though certainly not a requirement, the current participants have pretty much settled on using Scan/US, a desktop mapping and demographic solution which specializes in examining small level geographies and the characteristics that seem to be influencing them. In fact, as a group we have negotiated special pricing and packaging designed specifically for the needs of the consortium. For more information on Scan/US, click here.
The consortium meets annually (usually April) to discuss trends, case studies, tools, etc. as a way to help keep each other most current on demographic technology and how to best apply it to ministry situations.
There are annual membership dues of $50 per (main) user for each organization involved. A main user would be someone who works extensively with Scan/US software. Most Scan/US subscriber organizations will have only 1 or 2 main users, though they may have multiple licenses in their contract. The annual dues will be used primarily to develop the website and to cover expenses related to our annual training. The dues also allow you access to a special section of the website to learn more about Scan/US issues as well as interesting case studies/articles.
